Laugh Can Reduce Diabetes Risk

Laugh and giggle can help people with diabetes improve cholesterol level and reduce the risk of vascular disease and heart disease, according to a new study.

According to Lee Berk of Loma Linda University, who lead the study, lifestyle choices striking impact on the health and disease as well as this is a matter of choice between prevention and treatment.

The researchers divided 20 high-risk diabetic patients who all suffered from high blood pressure and hyperlipidemia (blood vessel disease and heart) into two groups that both were given the standard diabetes drug.

In another measurement, C-reactive protein, inflammatory markers and vascular disease and heart disease, down 66 percent in the group laughed but only 26 percent of the monitoring group.
